Garden City Park Florist Helps Make Long Beach Prom Possible

Pedestals Florist among many businesses helping make 2013 Long Beach prom a reality.

Garden City Park-based Pedestals Florist is helping to make the senior prom for the members of the Class of 2013 from Long Beach High School possible.

For the past seven years, Long Beach High School has held its prom at Chateau Briand in Carle Place. Due to hardships caused by Superstorm Sandy, however, it looked like many students would not be planning to attend the prom this year.

School officials talked with the business owners, who agreed to reduce the price this year to a more affordable amount considering the hardships the students were facing.

A few days later, Joe Mandaro, the executive director of corporate and special events at Chateau Briand, informed school officials that Pedestals Florist, the house florist for Chateau Briand, would also donate their services for the night to ensure that the tables looked beautiful for the students.

“We are proud to play a role in helping the students of Long Beach High School celebrate this special milestone, and to give them happy prom memories, in spite of all the recent hardships they have faced,” Mandaro said.

Other businesses are also donating resources including photography, dress and tuxedo rental, a prom dress party and DJ.
