The Five Towns will soon be home to its third 7-Eleven store, with the convenience store chain setting up shop at the former Shell gas station in Hewlett.

7-Eleven has already purchased the property at Peninsula Boulevard and Mill Road, and will renovate the existing 2,800 square-foot building there, according to a 7-Eleven spokesperson.

Forty-Foot Bar Proposed for West End Restaurant

A restaurant with a 40-foot bar is proposed for a former West End fish market-restaurant.

Rosecrea LLC, of 958 W. Beech St., has applied for variance with the Long Beach Zoning Board of Appeals for a 40-foot bar with seats at 954 W. Beech St, according to the zoning board agendafor Sept. 26.
