New Hyde Park Mathnasium Celebrates First Anniversary

Tutoring center to offer new course geared for high school students.

The Mathnasium of New Hyde Park recently celebrated their one-year anniversary at their Jericho Turnpike location. The tutoring center which specializes in providing extra tutelage to students in math courses opened in January 2012.

“We are so happy to have reached this milestone,” center director Peter Abrams said in a release. “We at Mathnasium are proud to teach math to the students of New Hyde Park in a way that makes sense to them – and to add some fun to learning! Our goal is to significantly increase each student’s math skills, understanding of math concepts, and overall school performance, while building confidence and forging a positive attitude toward the subject.”

The center is also launching a “Tutoring Plus Program” which will run from Feb. 1 through June 22, 2013 that is geared toward high school students who need extra assistance with algebra, geometry and pre-calculus.

The program will be offered on Monday through Thursday from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.
