New Hyde Park Bank to Host Identity Theft Awareness Event

Valley National Bank to provide services to guard against identity theft.

Valley National Bank in New Hyde Park is helping residents guard against identity theft next week.

The New Hyde Park bank will provide an on-site truck to shred confidential documents that could be used for identity theft.

The free event will take place Oct. 19 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Residents can bring bank statements, checks, income tax returns, credit card statements, and other sensitive documents to be shredded for free.

Staff members will also be available to talk about effective ways of preventing fraud and identity theft.
