Valley National Bank in New Hyde Park is helping residents guard against identity theft next week.
The New Hyde Park bank will provide an on-site truck to shred confidential documents that could be used for identity theft.
The free event will take place Oct. 19 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Residents can bring bank statements, checks, income tax returns, credit card statements, and other sensitive documents to be shredded for free.
