Grimaldi's in Garden City is my most favoritest pizza joint around! Just doesn't get better than hot pie from there. Pesto is my favorite and the whole family loves their straight up pepperoni. Their caesar salad is perfect, too!

Cugini's in Mineola

Grimaldi's on Franklin Avenue in Garden City. Superb, crispy, authentic, delicious. I'm bringing family from Colorado and Atlanta to lunch there today.

Carlino's Restaurant in Mineola has the Best Pizza On Long Island. They make their pizza sauce fresh every day. Carlino's slow cooks their sauce from fresh whole tomotoes, that's why their pizza sauce is naturally sweet. Other pizza places I've tried use canned tomato sauce which never tastes as good. Carlino's Grandma pie is my favorite and their sausage and peperoni pizza can't be beat. I pick up a couple of pies for my friends at the office and they just love it.

Carlino's has the best pizza around. I grab a few slices a few times a week. I'm always in a hurry and I know I can get in and out quickly and the pizza is always fresh and good. Try their Neapolitan pizza it's fantastic.

With so many great options, it's hard to choose, but Carlino's comes out ahead for me because of that sauce. A truly great pizza has to hit on all three fundamentals -- crust, sauce and toppings -- and Carlino's does it every time.

I just love pizza. The Pizza at Carlino's Restaurant is king of pizza in New YorK. There's a lot of competition in the area. I've tried most of them, and Carlino's beats them all. Their plain cheese pizza is perfection personified.

Many of the pies in this area are excellent, but Ubertos of NHP is the BEST and probably taught many of the other local pizza places how to do it!

Grimaldis is my favorite

Where to start , so many really good pizzas. Cugini for their Grandmas, Frank's Bklyn Pizza in WP for their Neopolitan pie and Rustica for their Brick Oven Special. Grimaldi's and Anthony's are top notch.Positano and Umberto's the best Sicilian, great sauce and oil.Sorry just could not pick just one. We are spoiled here on LI with the best, my out of state friends lament leaving NY

Pizza Supreme on Stewart Avenue in Garden City. They are in the shopping center opposite the McDonalds, near the entrance to Roosevelt Field. They have a fantastic "regular" pie, also excellent garlic knots. They do a very big lunch business.I am there more than once a week, and the guys behind the counter are patient, funny and nice...

Umberto's/Angoletto's for their Grandma pizza.
Ralph DiLeone July 05, 2012 at 11:02 PM
I vote for Carlino's Restaurant on the corner of Jericho Turnpike and Mineola Blvd. Whenever I'm in town, I stop by Carlino's Restaurant for their Grandma pizza. It's the best pizza on Long Island for sure.
Rich McKeever July 07, 2012 at 04:11 PM
Howdy, I moved away from Long Island in 1978, but is this were Vita's Pizza used to be? I lived in Mineola from 1965 to 1973, class of 1970! and used to go to Vita's all the time. Both them and the Sicilian pies at Umberto's in New Hyde Park were superb. It was only recently that edible Pizza has come to New Mexico and it was rough for a number of years, but our Green Chile is exquisite. Thanks, Rich in New Mexico.
Adria August 09, 2012 at 12:10 AM
Hey Rich, Carlo took over Vita's pizza and changed the name to Carlino's Restaurant. The pizza's, dough and sauce is delicious. I just vacationed in Colorado and I was really missing Carlino's Pizza. Glad to be back on Long Island, New York.

Asking who has the best pizza in New York is like asking where is the best sun in the Caribbean. My family always jokes that we have so many great choices. The crust as Giaccones is awesome, the sauce at Ginos is WP is the best, you never get a bad slice at Angelinas, I could go on and on........as a pilot I have traveled around the country and NY pizza cant be beat. The best is......any NY pizza joint!

How about a write in vote for Eddie's pizza in New Hyde Park?!
Rosanne Spinner August 17, 2012 at 03:44 PM
As sure as "the sky is blue", Umberto's of New Hyde Park, 633 Jericho Turnpike...has the best pizza - HANDS DOWN! That's what we served at my son's first birthday...40 years ago...and we lived in Richmond Hill at the time - and moved to New Hyde Park very soon after!
Patricia Moloughney August 17, 2012 at 07:35 PM
Umberto's of NHP best Sicilian & Grandma pies ever!!!!!!
Alicia Kelly August 18, 2012 at 12:40 AM
Jericho Turnpike is certainly home to the best pizzerias in the area (maybe even the whole tri-state). That being said, Carlino's is the most consistent at turning out an amazing, delicious pie... neopolitan, sicilian, grandma, personal pan - they are all sooo yummy!
Tina Ancona-LaRocco August 21, 2012 at 12:52 AM
Umberto's- enough said!
