Smashburger to Open New Hyde Park Location

Burger chain to launch restaurant on Marcus Avenue on October 18.

The New Hyde Park area will be getting another restaurant as Smashburger plans to open a new restaurant location at 1600 Marcus Ave. on Friday, Oct. 18.

The North New Hyde Park location will be owned and operated by ISK Systems LLC, which currently owns and operates Smashburger locations in Hicksville, Port Washington and Wantagh. The company, which was founded in 2010 by Irwin S. Kruger, a former McDonald's franchisee for 42 years, plans to open 20 restaurants across Long Island at a rate of three locations per year.

The company has hired 50 local team members to staff the New Hyde Park location.

“We are pleased to announce the opening of our New Hyde Park location,” Kruger said in a release. “When I was first introduced to Smashburger in 2010, I recognized the great potential of the concept due to its great burgers and extensive menu variety. We look forward to expanding our footprint and bringing Smashburger’s unique burgers, chicken sandwiches and salads to this new area on Long Island.”
