Vacant Felix’s Fulton Diner in Garden City Park [POLL]

Drive by on a Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend and you might just think the diner/family restaurant is closed for the day.

But a “For Rent” sign in the picture window tells a different story. The eatery at  2136 Jericho Turnpike in Garden City Park is seeking a new tenant.

Felix’s Fulton Diner had earned praise from several patrons over the years, including one who wrote in a web posting: “Walked over to this place for lunch on a lark today. Nice menu with a little bit of everything (plus a pretty standard Italian and seafood selection), and prices are very reasonable. It looked as though the owner was playing waiter, as he was the only one working the dining room and he had a help wanted sign outside. Nevertheless, the service was top notch and the food was brought to my table very quickly … This would probably be a good place to hit up for dinner as well. I only work in the area so dinner isn't an option for me, but they had a nice-looking dinner entree menu and a very good selection of wine and other drinks.”

The location is on Jericho Turnpike near Denton Ave., amid other restaurants and delis, as well as industrial businesses.
