Vacant in New Hyde Park: Empire Billiards

Though Empire Billiards may have closed in New Hyde Park, the new question remains – what sort or establishment should take its place?

The combination bar and lounge had been the subject of numerous complaints from residents and New Hyde Park Village officials over the past several years regarding the behavior of its patrons with reports of loud noise, public urination as well as reports of fighting in the vicinity of the premises.

A sign on the recently closed Jericho Turnpike business listed a Suffolk County phone number for inquiries about the space and the New Hyde Park Village Board is reportedly holding discussions with the property owner about what types of businesses might be appropriate at that location.

We want to know, what business would you like to see at the former billiard hall? A restaurant? A retail establishment? Should it be kept as a single, large space or subdivided into smaller business spaces or shops?
