“The AUA Young Urologist Committee is helping to shape the future of urology professionals across the country,” said Deepak A. Kapoor, MD, President of AUCNY. “We are extremely pleased that Dr. Paul has been chosen to represent our local communities, where AUCNY is committed to providing the highest level of quality medical services.”
The mission of the AUA Young Urologists Committee is to address issues specific to young urologists and provide them with the resources they need to make a successful transition from residency to practice. A "young urologist" is defined as one who is no more than ten years out of residency. An additional three years is permitted to allow for fellowships that are continuous after residency graduation.
“I am honored that the AUA Young Urologists Committee has selected me as their New York Section’s Representative. I am looking forward to helping to improve specific local issues of young urologists,” said Dr. Paul.
Besides the AUA Young Urologist’s Committee, Dr. Paul is an active member in the American Urological Association and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He was also honored as Top Doctor by Castle Connolly® in 2012 and 2013.
A resident of Woodmere, Long Island, Dr. Paul has been awarded various prestigious awards for his clinical achievements, including the 2004 Pfizer Scholar in Urology, the 2004 and 2005 Praecis Pharmaceuticals/AUA Gerald P. Murphy Scholar, and the 2003 and 2004 William Seery Resident of the Year Award at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center.
