Dec. 2-4: Weekend Edition

Here are a handful of holiday events for you and your family to enjoy this weekend.

T.G.I.F!

This weekend is full of exciting events to help get you into the Christmas spirit — if you aren’t already!

Here’s what you need to know:

1. On Saturday, Dec. 3 The New Hyde Park Village Hall will be holding its  event at the village hall from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Immediately following will be a magic show sponsored by the State Bank of Long Island and will take place at Marcus Christ Hall, adjacent to village hall.

2. Later on in the evening of Dec. 3, the will be having their 2011 Christmas Fest. The event will involve tree lighting, community party and Christmas show, all free of charge! Party begins at 6 p.m.; tree lighting at 6:15 p.m. At the event, the church is asking for a collection of shoes which will benefit needy families on Long Island.

3. Also on Dec. 3, the will be hosting a from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. You are bound to find a holiday gift from one of the vendors of jewelry, ladies clothing (Lg and XLg), merchandise mart, boutique items and hand-crafted items. A snack bar will also be available.

4. On Sunday, Nov. 4 the Kiwanis Club of New Hyde Park-Floral Park will be hosting its annual K-Family Pancake Breakfast at Marcus Christ Hall from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The cost of the breakfast is $3 for adults and $2 for seniors and students (kinds under eight are free). The Kiwanis Club is asking for donations of new toys, clothing and shoes for five families in need this holiday season. Call 516-456-5378 for more information.

5. Also on Sunday, Nov. 4 the Garden City Park Junior Firefighters are presenting their fourth annual with Santa Claus at the from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. You can have your picture taken with Santa, Mrs. Claus, Rudolph, Frosty the Snowman and all of Santa's Elves while enjoying a breakfast filled with all you can eat pancakes, sausage, bacon, fresh orange juice, coffee and tea.
