Who’s happy it’s finally Friday!? There are a bunch of exciting events happening this weekend in New Hyde Park.
Here’s what you need to know:
1. The New Hyde Park High School students will be putting on a second performance of Neil Simon’s comedy “45 Seconds to Broadway” Friday at 7:30 p.m. The play will be held in the auditorium and is $5 per person.

2. The New Hyde Park Fire Department is hosting a blood drive Friday from 3-9 p.m. If you’ve never donated blood before—or even if you have—read this story about a dedicated platelet donor for inspiration.
3. Herricks boys basketball will take on Westbury in a home game on Friday, starting at 7 p.m.

4. There will be a Herricks Wrestling Tournament on Saturday beginning at 10:30 a.m. The matches will take place at the Herricks Community Center, and all are welcome to attend and cheer on the Highlanders!
5. If you’re looking for a place to have a drink and listen to live music, head over to Mickey Malone’s, where the Ripp Tide Blues Band will be playing from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. The cost to attend is free, but you have to pay for your drinks.
