New Hyde Park Kids Take Advantage of Nemo Sleds in Hand

Village youth get the most out of new blanket of snowfall from blizzard.

Winter storm Nemo was a pleasant change from our last big storm and the last big snow storm. It was all backbreaking shoveling Saturday morning though as many children could be found out throwing snowballs, building forts and, of course, sledding.

Micheal J. Tully Park served as the natural go-to spot in town. The bigger hill was filled to the point that children had taken to other spots around the park. Parents watched as the kids jumped, dove, slid and rolled on, and sometimes off their sleds, down the hills.
