Update: Photos of New Hyde Park Hurricane Irene Coverage

Some businesses in New Hyde Park and nearby Stewart Manor are boarding up or have boarded up their storefronts in preparation for Hurricane Irene Saturday early afternoon. The near the Lake Success shopping center is closed due to the storm. Some streets as of about 12:30 p.m. such as Marcus Avenue, Denton Avenue, Evergreen Avenue and New Hyde Park Road between the tracks and Stewart Avenue have some water building up on the sides of the road.
