Daughter Helping Mom Build Chuch with Go Fund Me Page

New Hyde Park resident spearheading building of church in Dominican Republic.

For the past three years Marie Espina's mother has helped to spearhead an initiative of building a new church for the people of Naranjo Dulce in the Dominican Republic.

After three years in construction, the church is well under construction, but still needs more funding and support to see it finished. Several phases of the project remain, including laying of the floors, making and installation of the doors and windows, lighting and electric, pews, altar stand, and the Stations of the Cross.

So far, $5,855 has been raised on a Go Fund Me page out of a goal of $30,000. To donate, click here.

"This calling started with the strong will and devotion of our mother, but is going to take the generosity and cooperation of us all," Espina wrote. "Contributions have already been made by many family members and friends for which we are very thankful."
