Long Island Blood Services will conduct the blood drive in conjunction with an Island Harvest food drive that same day as both blood and food supplies fall dangerously low in the summer months.
All blood donors will receive a pair of Met Tickets.
Please consider being a donor – requirements are being 16-75 (16-year olds need parental permission, 76+ need a doctor’s note); minimum weight 110 lbs; eat a low-fat diet that day and drink fluids; no tattoos for past 12 months; and bring ID with signature or photo.
Call the library at (516) 355-7850, x301 or 304 to schedule an appointment to donate blood – but remember that walk-ins are also accepted.
Island Harvest food canisters will be located in the library’s lobby for your donations.
