Road Rage Increased by 170% in 5-Years

Have you witnessed an increase in road rage? According to the Department of Transportation, there have been more than 1,000 deaths since 2007 due to road rage incidents. Reports of extremely angered drivers has doubled in 5-years, an increase of 170%.

If you are driving and are the target of road rage, follow these three simple steps to stay safe and avoid any confrontation.

1.     Keep Calm. Take a few deep breaths and slow down.

2.     Avoid Making Eye Contact. Making direct eye contact can be viewed as a challenge to an enraged driver

3.     Stay in the Car. Do not leave your car for any reason and keep your doors locked.

If you feel you are in serious danger, avoid eye contact, lock your doors, and do not exit the vehicle. Call the police and avoid entering into a confrontation with the angered person.
