Holiday Guide 2011: Events

Here's a look at some holiday events happening around NHP in the next few months.

Interfaith Thanksgiving Service

Temple Tikvah is holding a on Sunday, Nov. 20 at 4:00 p.m. Participants include the Hillside United Methodist Church, New Hyde Park Korean Church, Arsha Vedanta Center, Stony Brook University Buddhist Study and Practice Group and Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. Refreshments and ethnic treats will be served after the service.

Notre Dame School

A couple of events are happening at Notre Dame School both before and after Thanksgiving.

On Nov. 22 there will be a Thanksgiving fundraiser pickup and on Nov. 23 a Thanksgiving service will be held at 10:30 a.m. All are welcome to attend.

In December, grades K-5 are putting on a Christmas show on Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m., and one week later on Dec. 21 there will be a Christmas band concert at 1:00 p.m.

Holiday Tree Lighting

The New Hyde Park Village Hall will be holding its event on Dec. 3 at the village hall from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Immediately following will be a magic show sponsored by the State Bank of Long Island and will take place at Marcus Christ Hall, adjacent to village hall.

Christmas Production

A production of will be performed by youngsters at the William Gill Theatre on the second floor of village hall on Dec. 10 at 2:00 p.m. Admission is $2.00.  

Winter Wonderland

The Town of North Hempstead is holding an eight-hour Winter Wonderland event at Clark Botanical Gardens on Dec. 17 and Dec. 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. No registration is required to attend.
