New Hyde Park Chamber Makes Donation to Fund for Sight

New Hyde Park Chamber donates $300 for RDH12 research.

On May 6 the New Hyde Park Chamber Benevolence Fund made a $300 donation to Maria Fiore for the RDH12 Fund for Sight.

RDH12 is a form of Leber's Congential Amaurosis, roughly 75-100 people in the country have this mutation gene.

Maria's daughter Bella has this RDH12 gene that is rapidly destroying the rod and cone cells in her retina and will eventually lead to blindness.

Additional funding is needed to continue the research to find a cure for this disease.
