New Hyde Park Girl Scout Gold Award Recipient Honored

Faith Fishkin receives citation from Nassau Executive Mangano.

New Hyde Park resident Faith Fishkin was recently honored by Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano for receiving her Girl Scout Gold Award.

The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest award that a Girl Scout may earn.  Earning the Gold Award requires a minimum of 80 hours of planning and implementing a challenging, large-scale project that is innovative, engages others and has a lasting impact on its targeted community with an emphasis on sustainability.

Faith has worked for the past two years on her project which included creating a website, a video presentation and doing speaking engagements on how to get help if you or anyone you know is the victim of bullying.  Faith is a member of the West Hempstead-Franklin Square Association of Girl Scouts Troop 1422.
