Begging Town of North Hempstead for Street Sweeping Schedule

Long gone are the days when our streets were swept every week like clockwork. Yes, every week. Residents knew their day and were able to clear the street for the most part. Ha. Not anymore. 

There is good news though: the center of all the streets in New Hyde Park are immaculate. The bad news is that the dirt and sand is still there.

We have garbage collection on Tuesdays and Thursdays in New Hyde Park. It has been that way for a very long time. Every year civic association leaders tell the Supervisor of  that they shouldn't sweep the streets on Tuesdays and Thursdays because in addition to parked cars, there are also garbage cans in the street - either empty or waiting for collection.

We have pleaded and begged for Wednesday street cleaning. It sounds so simple. Maybe next month. So get out your brooms and sweep because the Town can't seem to get a schedule together for us.
