Calling For All Artifacts Relating To History Of New Hyde Park

We need your help to preserve New Hyde Park's history.

The New Hyde Park Museum Project Needs You

Please check all storage areas for anything you have that you would wish to donate to the New Hyde Park Museum. We need your help to preserve New Hyde Park’s history. Bring photos and documents to the New Hyde Park Museum Project Booth. We will scan them if you wish and return them to you. Your donations will definitely help make our museum become a reality. 

Record Your History At Our Street Fair Booth

On Sept. 17, we will be at the New Hyde Park Street Fair at our booth by the . We will have an area in Marcus Christ Hall where you will be able to video and audio record some of your and your family's memories. Record the stories that have been told at your family gatherings so the rest of us can hear about them too.

We will collect these oral histories and then produce an audio visual presentation of the history of New Hyde Park. We will also have the space in the Village Hall (similar to the photo in the gallery) where you can come and see some of the original documents and items.

Do You Know When The First New Hyde Park PTA Was Formed?

If you check out the photo in the album here, the PTA was first formed in New Hyde Park in 1923. The notes have all the charter members listed and several of the committee members have relatives that were founding members. Do you see any of your relatives listed there?
