Anthony V. Santoro of New Hyde Park passed away on Aug. 16, 2013 surrounded by his family.
He was the devoted husband of Helen; father of Linda (married to Robert Travis), Barbara, Laura and Anthony (wife Debra); grandfather of Adam, Ryan & Brady Travis, Gabriella, Annalise and Christa Lamia and Alexander and Nicole Santoro; great-grandfather of Catherine, Connor, Kaelyn and Lena Travis.
Santoro served his country as a proud Marine and Lieutenant of the NYPD. He served his community as a member of Kiwanis, Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Marine Corps League, the Fraternal Order of Police & the NY 10-13 Association. He is greatly loved and will be missed by all.
Family and friends may visit at the R. Stutzmann & Son funeral home at 2000 Hillside Ave. in New Hyde Park on Tuesday, Aug. 20 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 21 at 10:15 a.m. at Notre Dame RC Church (New Hyde Park, NY). A military burial will follow at Calverton National Cemetery (Calverton, NY).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the 10-13 Association, 260-09 Hillside Ave. Floral Park, NY 11004 & the New Hyde Park Kiwanis Club, PO 917 New Hyde Park, NY 11040.
