Ernest E. Hersey, 95, Manhattan Food Stores Owner

Army veteran from New Hyde Park passed away on Dec. 22, 2012.

Ernest E. Hersey died Saturday Dec. 22, 2012 at Holmes Regional Hospital in Melbourne, FL at the age of 95.

He was born in Floral Park, NY and came to Vero Beach, Florida in 1983 from New Hyde Park, NY. He was a part owner of Manhattan Food Stores and an Army veteran who served during WWII. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in New York.

Ernest was preceded in death by his wife Barbara. He is survived by his daughters, Deborah Hersey and Sandra Gallt; his grandchildren Gregory Hersey, Donna McGowan, and David Gallt; and his great grandchildren Joshua, Jesse, Jenna and Amelia.

A memorial service was held on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012 at Fountainhead Funeral Home in Palm Bay, Florida.
