Frank Larsen, 87, Korean War Veteran

Life member of the V.F.W. Post 120 in Garden City Park passed away on Jan. 25, 2013.

Frank Larsen of Port Orange, FL passed away on Jan. 25, 2013 at the Hospice Care Center, Port Orange at the age of 87.

Larsen was born Nov. 26, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY and was raised in Norway, and returned to the U.S. at the age of 19 years old. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 120 in Garden City Park, NY. In 1988 he retired as an civilian employee of the Nassau County Police Department and moved to Port Orange, FL. He and his wife Marilyn enjoyed traveling, and were former members of the P.O.R.T. Club.

Larsen is survived by his wife Marylin of 56 years; children Nancy (Carl); and son Bruce (Amanda); two grandchildren, Dylan and Molly.

A Memorial service was held on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013 at the Hope Lutheran Church, 594 N. Williamson Blvd., Daytona Beach, Florida 32114. Memorial gifts may be made to the Hope Lutheran Church or to Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia / Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange FL 32129.
