Hannah Tinnes, long-time New Hyde Park resident passed away on Dec. 27, 2012 at the age of 95 after spending two months at the New Albany Gardens and Care Center in Columbus, OH.

After 60 years on Devonshire Drive, Hannah moved to Columbus in 2008 to be closer to more family members. She enjoyed her last 4 years living in her own home until she broke her hip during a fall in October.

Born 1917 in the Bronx, she married Broadway musician Michael Tinnes, who pre-deceased her in 1976. Tinnes worked for 30 years at Saks 5th Avenue in Garden City, where she managed the Men’s, Children’s and Jewelry departments.

She is survived by her four children: Joan Meyer, Gary, Alan and Marc Tinnes; six grandchildren: Karen Meyer, Jennifer Davies, Christopher, Matthew and Brett Tinnes, and Stacy Tertany. She is also survived by three great-granchildren, Ruslan and Liza Davies and Boden Tertany.
