Funeral services will be held Tuesday for Edward R. Hanlon Sr., past commander of the VFW Post #8031 in New Hyde Park.
He died at the age of 86 on Jan. 15.
Hanlon, of Mineola, was the husband of the late Matilda Elizabeth and father of Edward, Robin, Julian (Fred) and Kevin. He was also the grandfather of Michele, Edward (Jackie), Amanda (Mike Hansen) and Rebecca and the dear uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Hanlon’s wake was held at the Weigand Bros. Funeral Home on Monday. The funeral Mass will be held today at 9:45 a.m. at ; Interment at Holy Rood Cemetery.
