Jayne Ellen Ford Anchor, 71, Apartment Accociation Manager

Former New Hyde Park resident passed away on Feb. 25, 2013.

Jayne Ellen Ford Anchor passed away on Feb. 25, 2013 at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Ft. Gordon, GA at the age of 71.

Born in New Hyde Park, NY, she was the wife of Leonard John Anchor and began her 52 year odyssey that ultimately brought her to Augusta.

She worked as the office manager for the C.S.R.A. Apartment Association. She was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.

After her retirement, she volunteered at the church as the editor of the Parish Newsletter, a member of the Counting Team, a Greeter, Parish Directory Committee among other activities. In 2010, she was awarded the Bishop Gartland Award for her service.

Anchor is survived by her husband: Leonard John Anchor; her three sons: John Anchor and wife Carol, Michael Anchor and wife Tina, Kevin Anchor and his wife Vicky; seven grandchildren: Jeron, Scott, Samantha, Zane, Thomas, Sarah, and Bradley; brother John Dennis Ford and his wife Audrey.

She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Anchor.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 12 p.m. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Roverse officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Teresa of Avila Building Fund, 4921 Columbia Road, Grovetown, GA 30813; the American Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard Street, Alexandria, VA 22311; or the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692 Dallas TX 75284-0692. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 2, from 11 am until the time of service at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.
