William D. Cutter, Retired NYPD Detective, 64

43-year member of the New Hyde Park Fire Department passes away.

William “Billy” Cutter, a 43-year veteran of the , passed away on Friday at the age of 64.

Cutter was a former detective for the New York Police Department, retiring with a rank of 1st grade. He also was an ex-Captain of Protection Engine Company No. 2 and was currently serving as its president for many years.

Cutter is survived by his wife Linda, siblings Dorothea, Joan and John as well as brother-in-law Jim and Alaine as well as his mother-in-law Irene and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 26 and Tuesday, March 27 from 2 p.m. to 4:30 and from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the . A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at , with entombment to follow at Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The NYPD Widows and Orphan’s Fund.
