On August 26 I co-sponsored with the County Executive a well-attended Tax Exemption Workshop at Great Neck House.
Future will be held at the Manhasset Public Library, 30 Onderdonk Avenue, on Wednesday, September 12, from 1 to 3 p.m. and at in New Hyde Park, on Tuesday, October 16, from 1 to 3 p.m.
These workshops help residents find out if they are eligible for savings on their property taxes through a number of initiatives, including Basic STAR, Enhanced STAR, Veterans, Senior Citizen, Cold War Veterans, Volunteer Firefighters and Ambulance Workers, Limited Income Disability and Home Improvement exemptions.
It is my hope that these workshops will be helpful during these difficult economic times.
Equipped with specially-configured computers linked to the county’s database, the County Assessor’s staff processes property tax exemption applications at these meetings.
