Hosting Skin Cancer Awareness with the Colette Coyne Campaign

Assemblywoman Schimel collaborates for melanoma awareness at Clinton G. Martin Park.

I recently collaborated with the Colette Coyne Melanoma Awareness Campaign to raise awareness about skin cancer prevention at the Pool on Friday, July 13.

The event was one in a series of events titled “Skin-telligence”, which will be held at public pools across the 16th Assembly District this summer.

Skin cancer is one of the most deadly cancers in America, and I see it as my duty to educate my constituents about how to prevent it.

My office distributed information about how to stay safe in the sun and the importance of visiting a dermatologist.

If you missed the event, don’t worry as “Skin-telligence” will return to the Clinton G. Martin Pool on Tuesday, August 14 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Michelle Schimel is the New York State Assembly representative for the 16th Assembly District. She was first elected in a Special Election held on March 27, 2007.
