A bicyclist was reportedly struck in New Hyde Park at the intersection of Jericho Turnpike and Covert Avenue Wednesday morning at 8:56 a.m.
According to reports, a white mini-van hit the bicyclist and then fled the scene, heading towards Second Avenue on Covert Avenue.
The extent of the injuries to the bicyclist is unknown at this time.
A license plate from the mini van was obtained from eyewitnesses.
Police units are searching the area.
