Car Crashes Into Charles Street Business

No injuries as sedan drives through front entrance of Day & Nite Refrigeration.

A car crashed into a Charles Street business on the New Hyde Park-Floral Park border Tuesday afternoon.

No injuries were sustained in the crash in which a white two-door sedan crashed through the front door of the Day & Nite Refrigeration and Air Conditioning building at 10 Charles St. at about 2:56 p.m.

The New Hyde Park Fire Department responded to the scene as well as Nassau County Police Ambulance.

Workers inside the office building said that they suddenly heard a loud boom as the car, driven by a black male, crashed through the small lobby and through a back wall as well, shattering glass and windows.

The driver of the vehicle refused medical attention and was unhurt. There were no injuries reported at the scene.

The exact cause of the accident is under investigation.
