Cars Collide on Nassau Boulevard in Garden City Park

SUV collides with Lexus at Bedford Avenue intersection Thursday afternoon.

An SUV and a Lexus four-door sedan collided on Nassau Boulevard at the Bedford Avenue intersection Thursday afternoon shortly before 3 p.m.

According to reported accounts at the scene, the SUV was allegedly traveling east on Bedford Avenue, stopping at the stop sign on the western side of the intersection.

It then proceeded across Nassau Boulevard when it collided with the Lexus, which was traveling northbound towards Jericho Turnpike.

The collision crushed the front end of the SUV, which came to a stop about 20 ft. east of the intersection, while the Lexus spun completely around and collided with a metal signpost and a tree, causing the sedan to be pushed back into the middle of the northbound lanes.
