Garden City

Two women were arrested Thursday and charged with grand larceny after allegedly stealing a $10,000 winning lottery ticket and claiming it at the New York State Lottery office in Garden City.

According to New York State Police, Robert Collins, 57, of Ronkonkoma, was at Richie B's Bar in Holbrook when he reported his $10,000 winning ticket missing/stolen from the establishment to New York State Lottery Officials, who then contacted state police.

Police said Nichol Anderson, 33, of Holbrook, a bartender at Richie B's, took the ticket from the bar and gave it to Roseanne T. Alicea, 39, of Lake Grove.

According to police, Alicea claimed the ticket at the lottery office in Garden City and cashed it at a Key Bank in Manhattan.

Both women were processed on third-degree grand larceny.

A Suffolk County Transportation School Bus carrying two adults and two children struck the Chestnut Street Overpass. There were no reported injuries. The operator, a 32-year-old female from Glen Head, was issued a traffic ticket for disregarding bridge height clearance signs.

Malverne-West Hempstead

Numerous cars were stolen between August 1-4, including from the driveways of several homes and the parking lots of the Green Acres Mall.

Glen Cove

A 42-year-old male was arrested for disseminating indecent material to minors and possessing sexual performance by a child.

Woodbury
