Crimes Nearby: Arsonist Jailed, Burglaries and Egging Cars

New Hyde Park

A New Hyde Park resident will spend 60 days in jail for an April 2012 fire that destroyed a lodge in Wawarsing in upstate New York.

A car overturned at 99 Mineola Ave. on June 25 at 2:53 p.m. Two persons were reported aided.

Jericho

An accident involving a tractor-trailer closed the westbound HOV lane on the Long Island Expressway on June 24 at about 6:30 p.m. All lanes were reopened at about 10:16 p.m.

Old Bethpage

A person in cardiac arrest was aided at Bethpage State Park on the golf course on June 28 at 2:05 p.m.

Garden City

Five Garden City residents were arrested Thursday morning after they allegedly threw eggs at cars on the Sagtikos and Southern State Parkways. Additionally, police said they found approximately two grams of marijuana on one of the youths.

Two Seventh Street businesses were burglarized on the same day, according to Garden City police. The subject(s) apparently entered Dunkin Donuts and Garden City Salon and Spa through the rear doors of both establishments, according to a police report.

Crime Stoppers and the Nassau County Police Department are seeking the public’s help with identifying the two unknown subjects wanted for identity theft. On Saturday, March 18, at approximately noon, the above pictured subjects were present at The Apple Store located in Roosevelt Field Mall in East Garden City. The identity theft was reported in Valley Stream.

West Hempstead

A fire was reported in the basement of a house at 118 New York Ave. on June 27 at 1:04 a.m.
