Crimes Nearby: FBI Raid Update, Sex Offender and Identity Theft

The following arrest information was supplied by several local police departments. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate convictions.

Mineola

An by FBI agents in Mineola last week resulted in the arrests of seven men who were conspiring to pose as police in order to steal drugs from dealers. Court documents obtained by the Mineola Patch reveal an informant helped set up the sting on the group, who believed that 40 kilos of cocaine was stored in a Roselle Street warehouse.

New Hyde Park

A report indicated that a car fire occurred at 3003 New Hyde Park Road on March 29 at 4:54 p.m.

An overturned car was reported on 1000 Marcus Avenue on March 30 at 1:35 p.m.

Floral Park

A motor vehicle accident occurred on March 29 at 2:48 p.m. on Tulip Avenue and Concord Street.

Westbury

The Westbury Fire Department and emergency services responded to an overturned car on Post Avenue and the Northern State Parkway and a reported pin on March 25 at 12:30 a.m.

Police diverted traffic on the Norther State Parkway on March 25 at 11:45 p.m. between exits 34 and 35 due to a tractor-trailer striking an overhead bridge.

Hicksville

Multiple injuries were sustained in a motor vehicle accident on Old Country Road and Levittown Parkway on March 24 at about 9:50 p.m.

A car crashed into a house at Chestnut Street on March 29 at about 5:26 p.m. The Hicksville Fire Department requested LIPA to the scene as there was reported structural damage to the house.

Police arrested a female 19-year-old from Mineola at Sears on March 24 for the theft of two pairs of sunglasses and four shirts from the women’s department.

The department is investigating two separate occurrences on March 25 where a resident’s social security number was illegally used by unknown persons to file a tax return and illegally obtain the refund.

A gas leak was reported on Selfridge Avenue and Ellington Avenue in East Garden City at 11:10 a.m. on March 30. According to the fire inspector a low pressured gas line was struck and the leak was secured.

Malverne- West Hempstead

A West Hempstead man was arrested Monday afternoon after . Jeremy Levine, 23, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, unlawful possession of marijuana, controlled substance in non-original container and traffic violations.

A 59-year-old Valley Stream man was arrested on charges that he , according to the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office. Allan Davis, of Valley Stream, allegedly used the internet to make arrangements with a person he believed to be the mother of a 6-year-old female to take nude photographs of the child. Davis is a registered sex offender in his home state of New York for a 1999 arrest in which he traveled from Maryland to Florida for the purpose of having sexual relations with an individual he believed to be a 14-year-old female, according to the prosecutor's office.
