New Hyde Park

An unidentified male was struck and killed on the Long Island Railroad tracks near the New Hyde Park train station Friday morning, causing service to be suspended.

Mineola

Police arrested a Bronx man on April 10 who was wanted in connection with several burglaries at the Brichwood Court apartment complex in Mineola.

Nassau County Police are seeking a man wanted for trying to rob a Walgreen’s as well as a CVS in Mineola on April 12.

Jericho

A three-car accident occurred at 380 North Broadway in the southbound lanes on April 11 at about 3:51 p.m.

A two-car accident occurred in the westbound lanes of the Long Island Expressway on April 12 at 5:42 a.m.

Hicksville

Nassau County Police's “Project 21” undercover operation in Hicksville and Levittown resulted in four people being cited for selling alcohol to a minor, two from Hicksville and two from Levittown.

Old Bethpage

A car fire occurred at 202 Bethpage-Sweet Hollow Road on April 8 at about 4:25 p.m. causing traffic delays in the area.

Franklin Square

The Fourth Precinct conducted a “Project 21” initiative undercover operation that resulted in the arrest of four individuals on April 10, 2013 in Franklin Square and Valley Stream. According to police, an underage agent entered four locations and purchased alcohol without being properly identified. The following individuals were arrested for selling alcohol to a minor:

  • Jashoda S. Patel, 53, of Valley Stream, while working at M&S Stationary and Convenience, 467 Franklin Avenue, Franklin Square.
  • Felicita Pintor, 52, of Roosevelt while working at E&M Delicatessen, 179 Franklin Avenue, Franklin Square.
  • Gurbir Singh, 23 of Floral Park while working at Busy Bee Gas Station, 758 Franklin Avenue, Franklin Square.
  • Mahesh Fernando, 33, of Valley Stream while working at Mickey’s Wine and Liquor, 396 Rockaway Avenue, Valley Stream.

All the defendants are all charged with prohibited sale of alcoholic beverage and unlawful dealing with a child. They were issued appearance tickets to appear on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at First District Court in Hempstead.

Floral Park

A fire occurred at 64 Arthur Avenue on April 8 at 1:46 a.m. The fire was allegedly related to a condition with the oil burner.

Garden City

Two subjects withdrew $1,000 from a bank using the identity of an Adelphi University student without authorization or permission on April 2.

Garden City detectives arrested a male 23-year-old from New Hyde Park for sexual offenses against a female acquaintance at a location within the village in February on April 4. He was charged with forcible touching and sexual abuse in the third degree.

On April 11, Garden City scout leader pleaded guilty to distributing child pornography to others via the Internet

West Hempstead

A West Hempstead man was one of five suspects arrested after an alleged assault and robbery in Roosevelt on April 7.
