Mineola

A structure fire with  occurred at the  restaurant at 80 Herricks Road in Mineola on August 1 at 8:30 p.m.

Albertson

A bicyclist was struck at 801 Willis Ave. on August 2 at 2:57 p.m. The Albertson and Williston Park Fire Departments as well as the Nassau County Police responded to the scene. The condition of the aided was unknown.

Westbury

The Third Squad is investigating a robbery that occurred in Westbury on Monday, July 30 at 12:12 a.m. According to detectives, two male victims, ages 39 and 25 were walking on Barrington Street when they were approached by two unknown male subjects. The first suspect is described as black, approximately 20 years old, 5’10” tall, 190lbs., wearing a white tank top, beige pants and a shaved head. The second man is described as approximately 18 years of age, Hispanic, 5’05” tall, 170lbs., short black hair, wearing black running pants and a blue tee shirt. The subjects demanded money and the victims surrendered an unknown amount of U.S. currency and a cell phone. Both subjects then began to swing wrenches nearly striking the victims and eventually fled the scene on foot southbound on Barrington Street. No injuries were reported. Detectives request anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.

A Westbury man was arrested in East Meadow on July 30 at 9:35 a.m. and was . According to detectives, Leayon Tallman, 37, was employed as a repairman for Action Repair Service of Merrick. On Friday, June 15, the defendant was sent to a residence on East Road in Kings Point to service an air conditioning unit. The defendant told the 59-year-old male victim that he had to check an electrical panel in the bedroom closet. Later that evening the victim went into the closet and discovered that his Patek Philippe wristwatch was missing. The watch is valued at approximately $20,000. Detectives conducting routine reviews of items being pawned located the watch at a pawnshop in East Meadow. During the investigation it was revealed the defendant had a friend without knowledge of the watch being stolen pawn it. The watch was recovered. The defendant was located on the grounds of the Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow and taken into custody. Tallman was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on July 31. Detectives request anyone who feels they too may have been a victim of the above to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.

An overturned vehicle was reported at 243 Siegal St. on August 1 at 9:04 p.m. No pin was reported.

Hicksville

A driver was found pinned in an overturned auto on Boulevard Drive and Edgewood Drive on July 29 at 9:24 p.m. Rescue crews were on scene to find the victim’s arm pinned under the car. An airbag was used to free the victim, who was transported by ground to Nassau University Medical Center.

A fire damaged a structure in the kitchen of a restaurant at 70 Broadway on July 31 at 2:03 p.m. The fire was contained by the sprinkler system.

Woodbury

An overturned truck was reported at the interchange between the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway and the Long Island Expressway on July 31 at 11:29 a.m. The truck overturned into the woods. Nassau County Police and emergency services were on scene to evaluate the aided.

Live wires were reported down and burning at 136 Woodbury Road on August 1 at 9:26 a.m. Fire department units were on scene and requested LIPA to the location for assistance.

Franklin Square

A Ridgewood, Queens man was arrested for criminal possession of a forged instrument that occurred in Franklin Square on Wednesday, August 1 at 10:40 p.m. According to detectives, Florin Ilea was observed removing an electronic skimming device from an ATM machine located at the Astoria Federal Savings Bank at 955 Hempstead Turnpike in Franklin Square. When Florin was arrested he was found to be in possession of two American Express gift cards that had been fraudulently encoded with account information stolen from the Bank of America. Florin is being charged with two counts of second degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and second degree unlawful possession of a skimmer device. He was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on August 2.

Garden City

A fire occurred in the basement of 66 Whitehall Blvd. on July 31 at 3:57 p.m.

A Hempstead man was arrested Tuesday after  in June and July. A thorough investigation by the Garden City, Hempstead and Nassau County Police led to the arrest of Jaime A. Nunez, 29, on Terrace Avenue in Hempstead July 31. Nunez was charged with marijuana possession and four burglaries.

 was arrested this week after allegedly burglarizing and attempting to burglarize multiple homes in Garden City in June and July.

A 28-year-old Mineola man was  from  valued at $178 on July 28. Officer Milito also arrested a male 29-year-old from Mineola for the theft of several men’s clothing items valued at $168. The two subjects are brothers.

Police responded to St. Paul’s Crescent on July 30 about a report of an elderly resident who had become wedged in the bathroom after a fall. She was discovered by her mail carrier and was later freed after firefighters cut away the toilet. The woman was transported to Winthrop University Hospital for treatment for a hip injury.

Malverne-West Hempstead

A West Hempstead man was g a fellow resident and '' outside . Nassau County Police's Homicide Squad arrested Bruny E. Fenelon, 30, of West Hempstead, at 10:55 p.m. According to detectives, Fenelon was involved in an argument with another man in the back parking lot of the Hempstead Turnpike store. When the argument escalated, Fenelon allegedly began to punch and kick the 39-year-old victim, which resulted in his death.
