Here are the recent incidences near New Hyde Park.

Manhasset

Four Brooklyn men were arrested on Friday and accused of  a midday robbery at London Jewelers Watch Boutique and Gift Gallery, located in the Americana Manhasset shopping center, according to Nassau County Police.

Police say the men entered the store, brandishing two handguns and a sledgehammer. They wore gloves, blue jumpsuits and black bandanas over their faces, according to police.

The accomplice with the sledgehammer smashed several display cases, and the fourth person removed numerous Rolex and Breitling watches, police say.

The men were arrested without incident in the Lake Success Country Club vicinity, after an extensive search by Nassau County Police, including special operations, canine and mounted units, and Lake Success and NYPD officers.

A handgun was recovered. A fifth man escaped and is being sought. The defendants have all been charged with robbery and criminal use of a firearm. Thirteen employees and one customer were in the store at the time of the robbery. There were no reported injuries.

After being involved in a domestic incident, a homeless man was placed under arrest at 125 Main Street on Oct. 9 at 3:05 p.m.

Garden City

Garden City police that occurred on Maxwell Road Wednesday afternoon. An alert neighbor observed the boys acting suspiciously and noticed a rear sliding door opened.

A Garden City police officer stopped a Westbury man for driving at 55 mph in a 30-mph zone and moving from lane to lane without signaling. Upon an investigation, the man was arrested for two counts of aggravated unlicensed operation for seven open suspensions and an administration violation, speeding, three lane violations, uninsured operation and defective lights.

Levittown

Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s help in locating the person responsible for committing arson inside a Levittown church that is currently under construction.

According to police, the incident occurred a week ago inside the construction site of St. Thomas Orthodox Church. The fire resulted in approximately $70,000 in damage.
