Three individuals were arrested during a “Project 21” initiative which targets the sale of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products to minors within the confines of Nassau County on Monday, Dec. 30, 2013. According to police, with the assistance of an underage agent the following persons were arrested for Prohibited Sale of Alcoholic Beverage and Unlawful Dealing with a Child:
- Sukhjeet Singh, 26 of Bellerose sold alcohol to a minor from the Valero Gas Station at 545 Conklin Street in Farmingdale.
- Wei Guo, 31 of Woodhaven sold alcohol to a minor from Newbridge Beer and Soda at 8 West Village Green in Hicksville.
- David Jun, 52 of Westbury sold alcohol to a minor from Together Wine Outlet at 14 Jericho Turnpike in Jericho.
A Roosevelt man was arrested in Hicksville on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014 at 10:34 a.m. on grand larceny charges. According to detectives, on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014 at 1:50 a.m. a 38 year old female was at a relative’s house on Park Avenue in Roosevelt when she went outside the residence to warm up her 2005 Ford. The female re-entered the home and when she came back out a short time later the vehicle was missing. Inside the vehicle was the victim’s pocketbook and wallet. On Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014 the victim’s husband observed the vehicle traveling eastbound on Hempstead Turnpike and dialed 911. The car was stopped on Stewart Avenue in the vicinity of Key Lane in Hicksville and the operator, Dewayne Green, 17, was taken into custody without incident. The pocketbook and wallet were recovered along the Southern State Parkway in Roosevelt. The defendant was charged with third and fourth degree grand larceny, and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. He will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014.

Floral Park
A fire occurred in a bedroom at 61 Violet Ave. at 12:36 p.m. on Jan. 4.
On Dec. 23 a 51-year-old woman from New Hyde Park was arrested by Officer Matos at Lord & Taylor for the theft of $600 in merchandise.
On Dec. 28 at approx. 12:32 p.m. an unknown man entered the Citibank located at 1050 Franklin Avenue and passed a teller a demand note. For the full story, click here.
Three cars which were left running and unintended to were stolen in West Hempstead Thursday morning between 5:15 a.m. and 6:44 a.m., according to police.
