Domino’s Delivery Car Crashes on Jericho Turnpike

Traffic snarled along Jericho Turnpike in New Hyde Park.

A delivery vehicle collided with a passenger vehicle on Jericho Turnpike Friday afternoon, causing massive delays along Jericho Turnpike.

Mohammed Ahern was travelling eastbound along Jericho Turnpike when a car driven by a Domino’s delivery person collided with him at 12:59 p.m., right in front of the pizza chain.

Ahern, shaken but unharmed, was sitting in front of one of the garage bays at the nearby Express Lube following the accident, which appeared to be the result of an illegal U-turn on the part of the delivery driver.

The driver of the delivery car allegedly pulled away from in front of the store, which is located on the northern side of the street, made the U-turn and collided with Ahern’s vehicle, forcing the two vehicles up onto the curb.

Members of the had to use the jaws of life to cut sections of the car away in order to free the trapped drivers.

No other injuries were reported at the scene.

Many New Hyde Park residents had lodged complaints with the village regarding the , saying that many had varying degrees of dangerous driving habits.

Thank god no one was seriously injured . Again A Dominos driver causing an illegal act. Every day these drivers are causing traffic violations and something needs to be done before the next accident will cause a life
