A fire at a restaurant shut down a section of Jericho Turnpike at Covert Avenue in New Hyde Park Tuesday morning.
Members of the along with respondents from , Bellerose Terrace and Floral Park battled the fire at the Five Star Indian Cusine at 249 Jericho Turnpike.
The westbound lanes of Jericho Turnpike were closed for one hour from between 7:47 a.m. – at which time the fire broke out – to 8:47 a.m.
There were no injuries reported at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
