Five Car Accident on Jericho Turnpike

Two people are being treated for minor injuries.

Five cars were involved in an accident that left two people being treated for minor injuries on Jericho Turnpike near the corner of North 12th Street on Sunday at about 2 p.m., according to Chief Brian Sherwood.

NHP Fire Commissioner explained that the five cars were involved in an accident that was a chain of events. Frank Bosque's white Lincoln SUV was a parked car involved in that series of events.

Bosque was coming out of the Subway at the corner of North 12th Street and Jericho Turnpike when he saw that a white Grand Am GT had hit his car. He explained that the Grand Am seemed to have hit a white Corolla that was further up the block first and then hit Bosque's car. Bosque thought this accident happened because of a double-parked car on Jericho Turnpike.

"I made a special bumper," Bosque said, adding that he wanted to avoid having dings on his back bumper from cars hitting it. "It didn't survive this."

Jane Bosque, who came over after hearing about the accident, was "glad that kids weren't in the car. They seemed to be in the right place at the right time."
