Garden City Park Fire Blotter: Difficulty Breathing, Carbon Monoxide and Fall Victim

Garden City Park firefighters responded to the following calls November 17 – 23.

The following information was supplied by the Garden City Park Fire Department. A call does not necessarily indicate that a fire actually took place, only that an alarm or call for assistance was made.

November 18: 5:05 p.m. – 1200 Marcus Ave.

November 19

  • 3:56 a.m. – 51 Bretton Road – fire or carbon monoxide alarm sounding
  • 8:47 a.m. – New Hyde Park Road and Marcus Avenue – motor vehicle accident
  • 6:50 p.m. – 65 Park Ave. – odor of burning in basement

November 20

  • 8:53 a.m. – 110 Denton Ave. – smoke detector
  • 8:58 a.m. – 45 Schumacher Drive – carbon monoxide alarm
  • 4:04 p.m. – 185 Lawrence St.
  • 6:33 p.m. – 240 Center St.  (Center Street School)

November 21

  • 11:33 a.m. – 209 Devonshire Drive – first floor smoke detector
  • 4:07 p.m. – Jericho Turnpike and Marcus Avenue – motor vehicle accident

November 22

  • 2:13 a.m. – 76 Fourth Ave. – ambulance requested for 89-year old female having difficulty breathing
  • 4:11 a.m. – 88 Dogwood Lane– ambulance requested for male vomiting
  • 9:37 a.m. – 103 Shrub Hollow Road – carbon monoxide
  • 2:14 p.m. – 5 Holiday Park Drive, Williston Park – smoke detector
  • 6:31 p.m. – 76 Hamilton Drive, Roslyn – ambulance requested for female fall victim with wrist injury

November 23: 12:45 p.m. – 1801 Evergreen Ave. (Michael J. Tully Park)
