Hicksville Man Charged in Nassau Burglary Spree

Man hit Wantagh, Levittown, Merrick during spree, cops said.

A Hicksville man faces burglary charges after Nassau County Police say he committed several robberies across the county.

Scott Gilmore, 37, was charged with three counts of third-degree burglary, second-degree grand larceny, and unauthorized use of a vehicle by police.

Detectives said Gilmore was nabbed after an investigation by the Bureau of Special Operations. Officials identified Gilmore as the culprit in a June 1 burglary where lottery tickets and cash were stolen from Colony Cards and Gifts in Merrick.

Investigators then determined that on Feb. 11, Gilmore had also pried the door open at Beverage Barn in Wantagh and burglarized it. Gilmore reportedly stole cash, lottery tickets, and drove off in a stolen Mitsubishi box truck he later abandoned, cops said.

Second Squad detectives also found Gilmore stole a Chevrolet van containing tools and copper wire from a PSEG Training Center in Levittown, officials said.

Gilmore will be arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.

That dude's got the dead eyes. You know what? The Cops should video tape all junkies in custody going through withdrawal in their jail cells. Show the video to high schoolers who are curious about drug taking or think that it is glamorous and edgy to do dope.
