Manhasset Lakeville Fire Dept. Responds to Theater Fire

Theater checked after fire spread to gas meter.

A fire at the Clearview Manhasset on Plandome Road in Manhasset forced the theater to close Tuesday afternoon.

A plastic dumpster at the rear of the theater caught fire, which spread to a nearby gas meter, said Chris Pisani, 1st deputy chief of the Manhasset Lakeville Fire Department. The fire broke out at about 2 p.m.

“We were able to shut off the gas” at the theater, Pisani said. “We found the valve in the street, and turned it off.” National Grid also responded to the scene.
