No Damage, Changes in NHP from Earthquake

The Third precinct said there hasn't been any reports of structural damage yet.

New Hyde Park appears to be shaken but unbroken Tuesday after feeling the effects of a 5.8 magnitude earthquake that originated in Virginia at 1:51 p.m.

A Nassau County Police officer from the  said there have been no reports of structural damage or other issues as of 3:20 p.m. Tremors could be felt .

@cjmusic39 tweeted moments after the earthquake happened that he felt the earthquake at his home in New Hyde Park. Maria emailed New Hyde Park Patch Editor Alexandra Zendrian saying she was on Covert Avenue in Stewart Manor where people felt the tremors and merchants came outside.

A similar situation happened in where , Village Clerk, said people in the building went outside for a little bit. She added that everyone is fine.
