No Injuries in New Hyde Park Basement Fire

A North New Hyde Park family is safe after fire broke out in the basement of their home on Rose Lane Sunday morning, authorities said.

The first engine to respond stretched a hose line into the basement. The crew quickly extinguished the main body of fire, which was located in several bays of the basement’s ceiling across two separate rooms.  A second hose line was stretched to the first floor where there was minor extension, while other crews opened up the basement ceiling and walls to check for additional extension.

The New Hyde Park Fire Department responded to the scene as the Firefighter Assist and Search Team (F.A.S.T.). The Nassau County Fire Marshal’s office are investigating the cause of the fire.
