One Person Being Treated After Collision with Utility Pole

The person needed to be extricated from the car.

After someone crashed into a utility pole on the corner of Covert Avenue and Sixth Avenue on Monday at around noon, the person was taken to the hospital, according to a Nassau County police officer at the scene.

The person was described by police as being in fair condition after being extricated from the car by the . The person was already on the way to the hospital before about 12:20 p.m.

The cause of the crash is currently unknown, the officer said.
