Bayside man and youths from North New Hyde Park and Bayside charged with grand larceny.

Three men and two juveniles were arrested Wednesday morning by Nassau County Police in Herricks for grand larceny and conspiracy.

According to detectives, Third Precinct police officers responded to an assignment for a suspicious car and persons in the vicinity of Emmett Street and South Street at 4:10 a.m. When officers arrived, a 17-year old male from North New Hyde Park falsely reported that his friend, Christopher Doherty, 20, of Bayside was assaulted by three unknown males. An investigation determined the defendants had broken into two vehicles parked on Kent Street in Herricks and Spruce Lane in North New Hyde Park earlier in the night. Police recovered credit cards, a GPS system, sunglasses and a laptop computer belonging to the victims.
